DermOne announces closures in North Carolina; Crane Dermatology steps in

Clinton, NC, March 2, 2018:  In an email dated March 2, 2018, DermOne™ Dermatology sent notice to its patients that DermOne of North Carolina, P.A. would no longer serve patients in six locations, Clinton included, effective March 9, 2018.

Hospital executives have confirmed through conversation with Dr. Jonathan Crane that Crane Dermatology Associates, P.A. will assume operation of the Wilmington and Clinton offices, effective March 10, 2018.

While sudden, the announcement bares no impact on the hospital’s dermatology residency program, nor the local community’s access to dermatology services in Clinton.  Dr. Christopher Cook, DO, will join Crane Dermatology Associates, P.A. and continue seeing patients in the Clinton office, located in the Woodside Professional Building at 603 Beaman Street.

Patient’s medical records will automatically be transferred to Crane Dermatology Associates, P.A., which will serve as the medical records custodian, according to DermOne’s announcement on Friday.

Sampson Regional Medical Center has no ownership or management of DermOne of North Carolina or Crane Dermatology Associates.  Questions and concerns about this announcement and transition should be directed to DermOne™.
