Journey to Health, an initiative of SampsonRMC and The Center for Health + Wellness, is designed to get Sampson County healthier through free fitness opportunities and education. Our mission is to lead our community toward healthier lifestyles by encouraging regular physical activity, healthy nutrition, and to support efforts that help deal with life’s stressors. The Journey to Health Weight Loss Challenge, a program under this initiative, is offered at select times during the year to help encourage individuals in a group setting to begin their journey to a healthier lifestyle. You can join this program as an individual or group, and compete to see who will have the highest percentage of weight loss. Prizes will be awarded to the group and individual that has the highest percentage of weight loss.
For more information about the Journey to Health program contact The Center for Health + Wellness Program Manager at 910-596-5400.
Our Registered Dietitians are available for physician consults for any nutrition related need, whether it be education for a patient with a newly diagnosed disease or a new mom interested in maintaining adequate nutrition status while breastfeeding.
In addition to acute care patients, Registered Dietitian consults are available on an outpatient basis. Physicians in the community often refer patients to see the RDs at SampsonRMC for diet education for weight loss, diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, and hyperlipidemia.
Consults are specifically designed to meet the needs of each patient and require physician referral. Initial visits can be 30-60 minutes and subsequent visits are scheduled as needed.
