TOPRN at Sampson Regional gives future nurses the opportunity to apply classroom learning to a hands-on clinical setting. The Transition to Professional Practice (TOPRN) is the first level of Sampson Regional's Clinical Ladder program. TOPRN 1 is the starting level, specifically designed for nurses entering Sampson Regional in the continuum between their final senior semester and their first year of nursing. TOPRN 1 is a 6-12 month program that includes both classroom learning and hands-on clinical experience at a progressive pace designed to make a successful transition to professional practice after year one. Successful completion of the TOPRN 1 level elevates the participant to the TOPRN 2 level.
Our TOPRN program gives you the opportunity to experience Sampson Regional Medical Center. If you have what it takes to be a patient-centered, role model nurse, we invite you to join the SampsonRMC team through our Transition to Professional Practice Pathway (TOPRN)!
Individuals must either be a Senior in their final semester of an Accredited Nursing Program or a RN with 1 year of experience or less. Participants may have no previous healthcare certifications or licensure or may possess CNA certification or LPN licensure. The experience of the participant will be tailored to meet the individual's experience. Participants must currently hold CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days.
