CELEBRATE OUR PAST. SUPPORT OUR PRESENT. SHAPE OUR FUTURE.

SampsonRMC is among only a handful of independent, community-based hospitals remaining in North Carolina. More than a hospital, SampsonRMC is a health system of outpatient and professional services – all committed to excellence in delivering quality healthcare to our community.

Our Foundation supports the health system in fulfilling its mission by funding new equipment, renovations, special projects, and capital investments. Funds are raised through grants, special events, and donor contributions.

We value your continued support as our Foundation grows to meet the expanding needs of our community hospital; below, you’ll find details about some of our recent projects.

Consider designating your gift to one of the following:

  • Patient Care: Equipment & medical devices for nursing units, operating room, laboratory and rehabilitation
  • Imaging & Diagnostic Equipment: MRI, ultrasound, CT, etc.
  • Facility Operations: Boilers, chillers, HVAC, power redundancy, etc.
  • Information Technology + Security: Telehealth, fiber expansion, system redundancy, digital storage, telecommunications upgrades, etc.
  • Board Designated Fund: Gifts will be used responsibly where it will meet the greatest need

A special thank you is extended to all 2023 Annual Giving Campaign Foundation Donors. Without each of you, vital projects to advance patient care would not be possible.

  • Secured funding to enable Sampson Medical Group of Clinton to adopt the Reach Out & Read intervention, which is aimed at impacting childhood literacy and improved school readiness. New books are given at every well-child visit for patients age birth to 5 years old, and providers use the books during the exam to help evaluate cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development.
  • Proposal to private donor for a gift of $27,000 to implement the BABY & ME – Tobacco Free Program™. The evidence-based program is free to prenatal/postpartum women and is aimed at helping women permanently quit tobacco use. Mothers and their partners who successfully quit can earn free diapers for up to 12 months.
  • We know giving starts with us! Our employees demonstrated their commitment to strong healthcare in our community by giving back. Collectively, our employees have pledged $10,000 through our 10th Annual Employee + Physician Giving Campaign.

  • In recent terms, thousands in tuition grants were awarded to employees enrolled in degree-based programs to help advance their careers at SampsonRMC.
  • $40,000 of funds were disbursed from Foundation to support the purchase of vital equipment for the hospital's Blood Donor Center.

  • In early Fall 2024, Sampson Orthopedic Group is due to open in Clinton as part of the SampsonRMC Health System. This past year, $190,000 of funds were disbursed from Foundation to purchase a new Orthopedic Surgery table and instruments for the Operating Room.

SampsonRMC is among Sampson County's largest employers, with nearly 600 full-time exempt employees, and additional mid-level and physician providers directly contracted for full-time and part-time services

  • $26 million in payroll annually
  • Millions of dollars annually in local commerce
  • Support for local organizations, the arts, and education that contribute to community improvement and quality of life

Facility Operations is a behind-the-scenes, yet critical function to providing quality patient care. Significant investments are required to maintain a safe environment and comply with regulations. SampsonRMC is exceptionally challenged by an aging infrastructure, and essential repairs, upgrades and replacement of systems are continuously needed.

As imaging equipment nears the end of its useful life and technology improves, reinvestment is essential. Approximately $4 million over the next three years will be required to advance imaging technology for Sampson County.

At any given time, $3-5 million in capital needs are part of a rolling plan to address replacement of essential medical devices and purchase new equipment for expansion of services.

In a digital world, our IT infrastructure is vital to delivering patient care. IT is the backbone for that integrity, which includes security of networks, support for advancement in medical systems and technology, regulatory compliance, and expansion of telemedicine. More than $1.5 million will be required over the next two years for operability in these areas.

Your gift helps transform lives and strengthen our healthcare system.
